Rodeo In The Valley
Small Town Rodeo Photography in Tennessee: A Night Behind the Lens
I spent time in Tennessee visiting my sister, my brother-in-law, and my nephew, and they brought me to a rodeo in the valley. From the moment we walked in, the energy was unmistakable. Boots pushing into dirt. Gates clanging. The hush before a ride begins and the sudden burst of movement that follows. As a photographer, these are the moments that keep me hooked.
Rodeo photography is fast and unpredictable. You watch for tension in a rider's shoulders, the subtle shift in a bull's stance, the exact instant when everything breaks loose. Capturing it feels like catching lightning by instinct. Sharing the night with family made it even more special. Good people, good atmosphere, and a camera in hand. This gallery is a peek into that arena and why I love photographing events filled with movement, grit, and heart.
