Top Wedding Venues in Venice, Florida: Local Picks from a Photographer and Videographer
So you just got engaged, and you wanna know, “Hey, we want to get married in Venice, Florida. Any recommendations?”
Lucky for you, I live here, so I’ve got the inside scoop.
Venice is packed with amazing wedding venues, sandy beaches, lush gardens, modern halls, and rustic farms. Some are perfect for big celebrations, others for intimate ceremonies. And as a wedding photographer and videographer, I’ll tell you, picking the right venue isn’t just about looks. It affects the lighting, the vibe, and even the flow of your day, and can make or break your photos and video.
Here’s my local guide to the best wedding venues in Venice, Florida, with details on what I love, unique features, and nearby perks that make each one worth considering.
1. Chapel Creek Weddings & Events
Chapel Creek Weddings & Events is a versatile spot with indoor and outdoor wedding spaces in Venice Florida, perfect for intimate gatherings or larger celebrations. The signature Sperry Sailcloth tent gives me “Great British Bakeoff” vibes (in all the best ways!), and the Spanish moss dripping from the ancient oaks makes you feel like you’ve stumbled into an Old South oasis.
Why I like it: The gardens are gorgeous, full of natural light, and offer flexible layouts. It’s easy to imagine both a romantic ceremony and a lively reception here. From a photography standpoint, those garden paths and hidden nooks are perfect for capturing candid moments without feeling staged.
Local insider tips:
Grab coffee or breakfast for the wedding party at Venice Island Coffee Cafe, Croissant & Co, or Cafe Venice Restaurant and Bar.
For casual group meals or rehearsal dinners, nearby downtown Venice has Original Word of Mouth, Blu Island Bistro, or Suncoast Cafe (which I love as a pilot!)
Chapel Creek is close to downtown Venice, so guests can explore shops, local boutiques, and grab drinks post-wedding.
Evening or sunset photos around the gardens and barn are ideal; the natural light through the trees is perfect for warm, cinematic shots.
Best For: Garden weddings, classic indoor-outdoor versatility
2. The Hollow
If your vibe is patriotic, tropical, or garden-style, The Hollow is hard to beat. Lush landscaping, little water features, and beautiful sunsets make it feel almost magical. It’s got a patriotic theme, and is tucked into the heart of horse country. I can see three or four spots you can have a ceremony, but the one they’re best known for is their little island.
Why I like it: The space feels intimate and private, with seating and fire pits tucked in every nook and cranny. Even without any decorations, the natural textures — trees, flowers, and ponds — create a dreamy backdrop. From a videography standpoint, the filtered light through the trees and trellis-covered walkways is incredible for golden-hour shots.
Local insider tips:
A quick drive to Venice Beach gives you options for sunset or ocean shots.
Nearby dining for rehearsal dinners or group meals includes Crow’s Nest Restaurant, Tavern & Marina or Dockside Waterfront Grill. Both are casual waterfront spots that are perfect for pre- or post-wedding gatherings.
The property itself has hidden corners and garden paths that make for unique engagement or wedding photos.
For a weekend experience with family and friends, there are several Venice, FL Airbnb options within a short drive.
Best For: Tropical-inspired-boho, outdoor weddings, intimate ceremonies
3. Solis Hall
Solis Hall in Wellen Park is perfect for modern, contemporary weddings. Bright, airy, and with both indoor and outdoor options, it works rain or shine.
Why I like it: The modern aesthetic is clean and flexible. You can really customize the décor without fighting the space. The natural light makes everything look crisp and airy in photos and video. Downtown Wellen Park is a growing community, and Solis Hall is the closest thing to a “town center” as you can get. Plus, I live right across the street, so the commute for me is smooth sailing haha
Local insider tips:
After wedding prep, grab a bite at Acqua Pazza Coastal Italian Restaurant or Villani & Co Wellen Park Steak Seafood Raw Bar right in Downtown Wellen Park.
If you want a laid-back meal, Oak & Stone has artisan pizza and craft beer that guests seem to love.
For coffee or a sweet treat, there’s Foxtail Coffee and Kelly’s Ice Cream steps from the venue.
Best For: Modern lakeside weddings, couples wanting bright and airy spaces
4. Plantation Golf & Country Club
If classic elegance is your vibe, Plantation Golf & Country Club is a standout choice for weddings near Venice, Florida. This venue offers both indoor and outdoor spaces for ceremonies and receptions, with options like oak‑canopied gardens, expansive lawns, and indoor ballroom spaces with large windows overlooking the golf course.
Why I like it: It’s genuinely photogenic in every corner, whether you want formal portraits, candid family moments, or wide scenic shots with natural Florida light. The well‑maintained grounds and elegant clubhouse create a timeless backdrop that pairs beautifully with classic wedding themes. Plus, I love to golf here (no shame in the game haha)
Local insider tips:
Schedule early morning or late afternoon photos on the greens to take advantage of beautiful, soft light on the fairways and gardens — that lighting can make your portraits feel straight out of a magazine.
After the ceremony or rehearsal dinner, downtown Venice is just a short drive away, with plenty of great eateries and bars your guests might love.
If you want a nice group dinner or celebration around your wedding weekend, consider one of these local favorites:
La Botte – A highly rated Italian restaurant with elegant dinner options.
Longet – A French‑Mediterranean spot with creative cuisine ideal for rehearsal dinners.
Darrell's Restaurant – A beloved local choice for a laid‑back, hearty meal of BBQ.
Local Spot 941 – Great for casual group meals with classic American comfort food.

Why I like it: The textures, wood, greenery, and flowers give photos and video a warm, organic feel. It’s ideal for couples who want a farm-to-table, handmade vibe without feeling overly staged. Every wedding here feels distinctive, with plenty of little corners for natural, candid shots.
Local insider tips:
For rehearsal dinners or a casual group meal, check out Ozy’s Tavern or Irma’s Tacos (get the quesabirria, my fave!) — both are great spots for local flavor and relaxed gatherings.
The open fields and gardens provide gorgeous sunset portrait opportunities — perfect for cinematic golden-hour shots.

6. Venetian River Club
If you’re dreaming of a romantic waterfront wedding venue near Venice, Florida, the Venetian River Club is a hidden gem tucked into a scenic part of Nokomis. It’s nestled beside a nature preserve with sweeping views and lush greenery, and the setting can feel like a quiet Italian villa right here on the Gulf Coast.
Why I like it: This venue blends indoor elegance with outdoor beauty. The clubhouse’s Tuscan-inspired architecture and panoramic windows look out over the event lawn and nature preserve, giving you a gorgeous backdrop for both ceremonies and receptions. There are multiple spaces you can use — whether you want an intimate indoor dinner or an outdoor ceremony overlooking the greenery and water.
Local insider tips:
Time your portraits for sunset along the water or near the preserve trail. The reflections and golden light make for cinematic shots.
After your ceremony, check out nearby Pop's Sunset Grill for seafood and drinks with a view — a local favorite right near the shore.
Waterfrontoo (more formal) and Nokomo's Sunset Hut (more casual) are also great spots for rehearsal dinners or post‑wedding meals with guests.
For something a little different, Bella Rimini is a stylish local choice for Italian and cocktails (the chicken parm and tiramisu are my order), and Taqueria Y Fruteria La Mexicana is a fun, flavorful casual option nearby.
Anita's Restaurant is a solid breakfast/brunch pick if you’re gathering the crew the morning after your wedding.
Best For: Waterfront weddings with elegant indoor–outdoor flexibility, couples who want scenic river views plus nearby casual dining
7. Venice Beaches & Parks
For a classic beach wedding, I love spots like Venice Beach, Maxine Barritt Park, or Caspersen Beach in Venice. Sand, sea, and sunsets provide a natural, breathtaking backdrop.
Why I like it: I live here, so I know the best spots for tides, sunset angles, and little photo nooks that make your pictures unique. Public spaces require permits, but the payoff is worth it.
Local insider tips:
Venice Fishing Pier is great for sunset portraits or a quick stroll by the water.
Brohard Paw Park & Beach is fun if you have furry guests in your wedding party.
Downtown Venice is minutes away for casual post-ceremony drinks or photos among historic downtown streets and plazas.

8. CoolToday Park
If you and your partner are big sports fans and especially Atlanta Braves fans, CoolToday Park is one of the most unique wedding venue options near Venice, Florida. Located just up the road in North Port, this modern stadium is best known as the Spring Training home of the Braves, but it also doubles as an unexpectedly great spot for weddings and private events.
Why I like it: This venue is pure personality. It’s not your typical ballroom or garden, and that’s exactly the appeal. CoolToday Park offers a mix of climate-controlled indoor spaces and wide-open outdoor areas, which gives couples a ton of flexibility. From a visual standpoint, it’s clean, modern, and full of character. Whether you lean casual or elevated, the setting does a lot of the storytelling for you. I’m a huuuuuge baseball fan, so this would be a dream venue for someone like me!
There are multiple event spaces to choose from, including the LECOM Legends Club, field-level suites, terrace club areas, open concourses, and more than 50,000 square feet of green space. You can keep things intimate with a small group in a suite or go big with a larger reception overlooking the field. Maybe you’re thinking, “We want something fun, but still polished.” This venue hits that balance better than you might expect.
Local insider tips:
This is a great option if you have out-of-town guests, since parking is plentiful and access is easy.
For a rehearsal dinner or pre-wedding hangout, nearby Wellen Park and Downtown North Port have casual dining spots that work well for groups.
From a photo and video perspective, the stadium architecture, signage, and open sightlines create bold, memorable visuals that feel totally different from traditional wedding imagery.
Best For: Sports fans, Atlanta Braves lovers, couples wanting a non-traditional wedding venue near Venice, Florida, and anyone who wants a celebration that feels fun, memorable, and completely their own
Honorable Mentions:
Florida Sun Weddings
Florida Sun Weddings specializes in beach and waterfront wedding packages in Venice Florida and handles officiating, coordination, and more.
Why I like it: Couples who can relax naturally create the best moments for photos and video. A well-run beach wedding makes everything look effortless. They’re not really a venue in-and-of themselves (that’s the beach) but they make a beach wedding a reality.
Local insider tips:
Close to multiple Gulf Coast beaches for a range of photo options and backdrops.
Perfect if you want a weekend wedding experience — plan local dinners, rentals, and beach days around your ceremony.
Some couples bring paddleboards or small boat tours for fun adventure shots on video.
Best For: Full-service beach weddings, intimate waterfront ceremonies
Venice City Hall
While not a traditional wedding venue with ballrooms or grand lawns, Venice City Hall earns an honorable mention for couples seeking a small, meaningful ceremony with a local vibe. The City of Venice allows reservations for small wedding ceremonies at various public spaces and facilities connected with City Hall — from charming gazebos and garden spots to an iconic city backdrop — perfect for couples who want a minimalist celebration or a quick civil ceremony before heading to a reception elsewhere.
What makes Venice City Hall special is its authentic, community-centered feel. It’s ideal for intimate weddings with close family or a bride and groom who just want to make it official in the heart of Venice before continuing the celebration at a beach, park, or restaurant reception. Just keep in mind that city policies govern what you can bring and set up — such as decor restrictions and permit requirements — so it’s best to check with the city’s event office early in your planning.
